'American Idol' first look: Season 9 ad campaign!
What were you expecting, an image of Simon and Ellen duking it out in a ring? Or maybe a solo shot of Ellen busting a move? Silly you for buying into all the media hype surrounding the big judging panel makeover. American Idol is a singing competition, and judging by the “key art” for the show’s ninth season (debuting January 12), Fox hasn’t lost sight of that.
“The fact that Fox is going with a contestant-focused theme for the show’s season 9 campaign is good news for all us Idoloonies who know that at its heart, the show is about finding the next Kris-Adam-Allison, not a coherent pinch-hitter for Paula Abdul,” raves EW’s great American cheerio, Michael Slezak. “Oh, and those had better be models and not actual contestants they’re showing, or else we’re about to encounter early contestant pimping at new and unprecedented levels.”
Relax, MSlez. Sources confirm to me exclusively that they are, in fact, models. Those same sources also confirm that the other four posters from Idol’s new campaign can be found below.

Earlier this year, Trey Songz took R. Kelly to task for using Auto-Tune on his Demo Tape mixtape. Kells responded earlier this month on DJ Skee's radio show.
"If you're gonna step out on that limb, which is very thin, you should make a personal call," Kells told Skee. "Now if you're trying to sell an album and start a beef, then you make it public. ... But you have to be very careful with that. Because why would I tell Stevie Wonder, even though he doesn't have an album, 'You need to do this and that' ... or talk about Stevie Wonder. I would not do that. Because Stevie Wonder has fans too. ... Just as Stevie Wonder and Charlie Wilson and Donny Hathaway and Sam Cooke paved the way for the R. Zoe Saldana, Hollywood's new queen of science fiction, didn't need much of an introduction to the world of geekdom. Her nerdiness comes naturally.
The actress – who plays Neytiri in James Cameron's 3-D blockbuster Avatar, and was Uhura in J.J. Abrams's Star Trek – says she's always been drawn to material with nerd appeal.
"For me, it's been like preaching to my choir, because I was considered what you would think of as a geek," Saldana, 31, told PEOPLE at the Avatar premiere in Los Angeles last week.
"I loved stories that helped me escape, and those happened to be the stories that fall into the category of geekiness. So, therefore, I am a proud geek!"
The success of Avatar, which took in $73 million dollars in U.S. box office this weekend, will raise Saldana's profile beyond the fan-boy demographic.
To stay grounded, she says she's leaning on family and focusing even more on her work.
"I became an actress to be in great movies, to work with amazing filmmakers," she says. "And I think that's how I want to leave a mark if I'm ever granted that opportunity."

Leonardo DiCaprio hops on a motorcycle after doing some shopping at the Beverly Center
Doing his part to boost the holiday economy, Leonardo DiCaprio was spotted shopping at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (December 20).
The “Catch Me If You Can” stud was none too pleased to discover paparazzi waiting for him, and hid beneath a UCLA ballcap as he hopped on his scooter and rode off.
And it sounds like Leo has been a good influence on troubled Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan, at least according to LiLo’s father Michael Lohan.
Daddy Lo told press, “They have been friends for years. Mark Wahlberg, Robert Downey Jr., Leonardo DiCaprio and a few others - I think they have a lot of positive things to offer.”

Speaking of movies, K-Fed has a hilarious role in the upcoming “American Pie Presents: The Book of Love,” set to hit stores on DVD tomorrow.
Kevin explained, “They called me up and asked if I was interested. I was up for a different part originally, but then they didn’t want me playing myself. I think they thought it would be funnier for me as a Canadian border guard.”

The star was seen wearing a walking cast on Thursday night after allegedly sustaining an injury during an exercise session.
Phillippe suffered a stress fracture after running barefoot on his treadmill, according to TMZ.com.

Pre-production is underway on Warner Bros.' film adaptation of DC Comics' "Green Lantern," with Ryan Reynolds set to star as Hal Jordan, the titular hero. Martin Campbell ("Casino Royale") will direct the feature, which is already scheduled for release on June 17, 2011. Although there have been rumors of Jackie Earle Haley playing the film's villain (which have not been confirmed), there hasn't been much else mentioned in the casting of the other characters. However, Latino Review has the scoop on five actresses who are in the running to portray Reynolds' leading lady, Carol Ferris.

Pussycat Doll cutie Nicole Scherzinger and her racing driver beau Lewis Hamilton are reportedly on the rocks and on the brink of a breakup.
The couple, who has reportedly not seen each other for almost a month, just shelved plans to spend Christmas together. Not a good sign!
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Lewis and Nicole have had a few problems for a while now. They love each other dearly but have incredibly busy schedules.
“Nicole was in London last week and was desperate to hook up with Lewis but she was busy in the studio while he is on a European training camp and couldn’t come back.
"Hopefully after a month apart, they will come to their senses and give things another go.”
They've been together for over three years, but maybe a little break is just what they need to revaluate their relationship and realize how much they love each other.

In the last few days, we've learned that X-Men and X2: X-Men United helmer Bryan Singer is returning to direct X-Men: First Class for Fox and that Jamie Moss will write the new script. Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are producers.
Variety learned more from Singer, who said that the studio sparked to a detailed treatment he wrote for the film. "This is the formative years of Xavier and Magneto, and the formation of the school and where there relationship took a wrong turn," Singer said. "There is a romantic element, and some of the mutants from 'X-Men' will figure into the plot, though I don't want to say which ones. There will be a lot of new mutants and a great villain."
In the film, Xavier and Magneto will be twenty-something, and the film sounds similar in construct to the J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek. "Whether it's 'Batman,' 'Lord of the Rings' or 'Star Trek,' if the characters are good, you want to see them on their journey even if you know their destiny," Singer said. "I put myself in the fan's position, and I think this story is something I would want to see, and so will they."

The rep has been desperately trying to play competing publications against each other to make sure his client comes out of it with his penis size preserved which only reinforces the widely held belief that his client is a giant prick – in personality, and not necessarily in his pants.
[2.] Everyone knows about this delightful action star’s relationship with the head of his company and that his wife isn’t really his lover. But the boyfriend is jealous and overprotective and now his hiring practices are raising some eyebrows. He will not hire anyone prettier/hunkier/more stylish than he is for fear of tempting his famous partner.
